INTRODUCING AIR GUITAR: The last pure art form

Air Guitar has been described as:

“What?”

“It’s better when you don’t laugh.”

“This is isn’t a podcast. It doesn’t have a… (technical jargon)”

“This gives me hope for the future of _______”

“I was hoping there would be more air guitar.”

“I want my joke back.”

“It’s the last pure art form…Right? Is that what I’m supposed to say? Okay, okay, I said it, fucking cut it out! That hurts!”

“It’s like if two people had been friends since high school and they didn’t see each other very often because one of them lived in Canada and the other one lived in California but they still really liked each other and they called each other almost every week and made a lot of jokes on the phone and then they decided to do a podcast; this is what it would sound like, except those two people’s podcast would be funnier.”

Julia Marshburn and Lindsey Boldt invite you to please join us by listening to Episode 1 of Air Guitar at (http://reecemarshburn.com/airguitar.html). For optimum enjoyment, listen to this podcast on a nice sound system, like maybe an expensive one. We don’t know what that would sound like but we imagine that it would sound pretty good.

Next I would very much like to see a "Flying V" guitar designed to look like the Eiffel Tower. It seems like an obvious design concept that someone should've banked on already but I did a google image search for it and nothing came up. It's up to you now so, please let's make this happen.

Daggled Mermaids

I would like to draw every reader's attention to a new and very exciting addition to the blogsphere (blarf, that word does not need to exist as far as anything aesthetic goes). Andrew Bleeker's new video blog "Daggled Mermaids" holds the title for Most Fun I've had on a Blog Ever. The concept is simple: see Andrew read his favorite poems at the beach, in the dark, near some ducks and in a very blue room among other San Francisco locations. What results is often poignant, self-consciously grand, a little bit silly and an all around good time on the internet. Please find the link to this site at the right under Fun Fun and Useful, as I have not yet figured out how to turn words into links. Hooray for Andrew and hooray for reading other poet's poems aloud. It should really happen more often. Let's do it!

Spam O'

This was the subject line of a spam email I received at work today:

Knave as the nuns lip to thefriars.

From Erma Alexander.

Thanks, Erma.

I would like to introduce you to my Mother

This is Irene. She's 62 years young and a total babe. She enjoys fly fishing, golfing, dancing, travel, reading and has recently discovered her passion: drawing and persues it ardently. She is great. Sorry folks, she's also happily taken.
